ArtsFestival: Romanesque art of Cluny

Dr Catherine Oakes will discuss how wine, worship and song influenced on Cluniac art. Very active in the arts, the Cluniacs contributed to the Romanesque style of architecture's rise.

    Didier Pierson comes from five generations of Champagne growers and will be sharing the tricks of the French savoir-faire in growing and producing Champagne, as well as his experience in making English sparkling wine in Hampshire.

    Didier's talk will be followed by a tasting with Master of Ceremony, Yannick Joseph.

  • ArtsFestival: Screening of “Edmond” movie

    French movie with English subtitles.
    Sypnosis: December 1897, Paris. Young dramaturgist Edmond Rostand starts writing a play which nobody believes in it. For now, he has only the title: "Cyrano de Bergerac".

    The screening includes an exclusive recorded interview with Alexis Michalik, the director and is followed by a Q&A with Dr Macs Smith, Hamilton Junior Research Fellow in French.
