French Activities for Schools Oxford
Workshops for your school and activities for French teachers.
“The cheese tasting workshop was much appreciated by our Y6 pupils. They enjoyed answering general questions in French, filling in questionnaires and of course tasting the cheeses. The oral interactivity was great and well supported by digital and paper resources. The whole workshop was pitched at the right level for the end of KS2, stretching the most able but allowing everyone to participate. It allowed for a good review of adjectives and comparative forms. A great cultural and linguistic experience!”

Free workshops in your school
Alliance Française d’Oxford can offer a one-hour free workshop in your school (in the Oxford area) for most age groups. Part of our charity mission is to reach out to Oxfordshire schools and promote the enjoyment of learning French. One or several of our qualified French native teachers will lead an age-appropriate French workshop in your school, with fun learning activities and games and/or cultural presentations. We limit our presentations to 30 pupils at a time.
We cater to primary schools, Year 7,8,9, GCSE levels students, and 6th form.
French Day à la Carte
We can design custom-made activities for your students in a full day of French immersion either around Oxford, in your school or in our premises. Your programme could include a combination of activities such as a film projection, role-play activities, a workshop based on specific learning targets, lunch at a French restaurant, and a museum treasure-hunt in the afternoon. Past 2-hour workshops designed by our teaching experts include: “Cheese tasting workshop (shown here)”, “French literature and poetry”, “Iconic moments of French cinema”, “French pronunciation clinic”, “Cooking in French”, “Language and yoga”, “Subjunctive clinic”, “La gastronomie française”, “Les gilets jaunes”, just to name a few…

For yourself or for your students! The DELF, DALF and DELF Junior are official French proficiency diplomas, for adult students (DELF or DALF), and for teenagers (DELF Junior for 12-17yo). They certify the same CEFR levels (A1 to C2) but with different topics. No prior test or certification is needed, and your results are valid for life!
It is a great opportunity for your students to demonstrate their French language skills, be rewarded for their work at school and get used to sitting exams. Contact us as soon as possible for registration in order to be best prepared for the DELF exams.
